How-To: Nail Polish Strips

Nail polish strips are a fun and easy way to create long lasting and professional looking nail designs. This how-to can be used with any brand of nail polish strips. I will link to the products that I used.

Nail polish strips can either be applied to your natural nails or on top of artificial nails. I chose to apply blank artificial nails before applying the nail polish strips. Blank nails are an awesome canvas for your own nail art, especially if your natural nails are brittle or a little less than perfect. I used Nailene So Natural short length nails #71046.

I am using Cala Nail Strips in fuchsia pink glitter #86882. If you want to cover the whole nail, find the correct size by holding the sheet of strips on top of your nail and bending it to the contour to make sure it will cover the nail completely.

Bend the backing sheet away from the nail strip and use a manicure stick to lift it off of the backing and place it on the nail, cuticle end first.

Once it is in place, use the manicure stick to smooth the strip over the entire nail. Use scissors to snip the excess at the tip and a nail file to finish the rest. But you can do more than just cover your nails! Try cutting the strips into funky shapes or little strips for striping. I thought the glitter would look great for French tips.

Cut the strips in half the long way. Use the same steps as above to remove the strip using a manicure stick.

Place the middle of the strip onto the top edge of the nail. Make sure it is straight and then smooth it across the nail using the manicure stick. The strip should hang off both sides of the nail.

Use scissors to snip the excess and then file down the edges. Use a coat of clear polish or top coat to seal in the design.

The nails should last for 7-10 days.

We currently carry both fuchsia pink and silver glitter nail polish strips. Check back soon for more designs added to the store!
