Nail Share: Metallic Nail Strips

Today's nail share is for the metallic fans. Cala Metallic Nail Strips come in seven different colors, so I have mixed it up using five on one hand (not pictured are red and gold). You can use these to fully cover your nails like I have done, or cut them into strips or shapes. You can even layer them!

One thing I really like about these strips is that they stretch. Find the size you want to use, put the cuticle edge down on your nail and stretch the strip out across your nail to get a snug fit. It you have any bubbles or creases, just pull the strip up and stretch it back down. You can't do that with cheap strips ;)

How-To: Nail Feathers

Feathers are HOT right now, whether it's in the hair, earrings, or jewelry. Now you can have a fun funky feather look on your nails! First, you are going to need cuticle scissors, a cuticle stick, clear top coat polish, and a feather. I am using Nail Stop spotted ostrich feather in purple.

First, decide which part of the feather looks good on your nail. You can use the spotted ends, the soft downy part, or both.

I am going to use both parts of the feather to give my nails a more random look. Once you have found the part of the feather you want to use, cover your nail with the clear polish and lie the feather on top. Use the cuticle stick to push the edges of the feather into the polish and hold it there until it is completely stuck. Turn your nail over and use the cuticle scissors to cut the excess feather away from your nail. Apply two layers of top coat to seal the feather in.

And there you have it! And BTW, here is how much of the feather was left after decorating both hands.

Enough to do touch ups or even use for a matching pedicure!
